Hello,

my australian friend Nick and I have already arranged this Groupbuy in Australia, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

Because of the increasing demand, we will offer soon a second series of our "Plates", and will give you the chance to get them, too.

The SW20 front anti sway bar reinforcement plates are designed to strengthen the existing mounting points on the car as well as provide a third mounting point on each side courtesy of an existing bolt further forward.

A well known weakness on SW20 MR2’s are the front sway bar mounting points. Conventional front engine cars have a front sub frame from which the anti sway bars are mounted. As the MR2’s engine is mid mounted there is no front sub frame and the anti sway bars mount directly to the body. Under cornering forces the bolts can pull out of their mounts and require re welding of the body to correct. Fitting of more rigid aftermarket sway bars increases the risk of this occurring.

This picture depicts a 1990 model SW20 turbo with corrective welding of failed mounting points and also demonstrates where these plates attach to body (circled in red).

These plates are made in Australia. They have being redesigned from the original Suspension Techniques design sold by various US vendors. Ours are lighter whilst still retaining similar strength.

For comparison - weights (per pair),

ST: 1380g
Australian: 1080g

For the same function this is quite a significant weight saving I think you will agree.

Installation is straight forward and can be accomplished by the backyard mechanic providing you have suitable equipment to safely jack and secure the front of the car.

Two versions are available, mild steel with zinc plating to resist corrosion and stainless steel.

Stainless Steel: 70 € per pair
Zinc plated mild steel 45 € per pair

These are being distributed via Germany, postage from Germany to you with be an additional cost of 15 €.
