Hy Italian MR2 drivers,
I just moved to Milano,(sono olandese)and as you all probably understand don't want to get rid of my MR2 SW20.
Next step, try to import the car...but how does it work?
My Italian language is not what it should be yet.
Could you please help me?

As introduction: I drive a red 1990 MR2 SW20, two years ago rebuild the engine myself and spend a lot of time fixing a lot of parts. Already own the car 3 years now and drove over 100000Km. I love to drive the car, just can't get enough of it!

Any help will be highly appreciated!
Regards,
Edwin

Hi Edwin!
I bought my MR2 in Germany, then I had to translate the original paper and change the plates with new italian ones.
You can do all the job but it's quite difficult (for an italian citizen, impossible for a stranger ) so I suggest to go to a Car Agency (I don't know how to translate "Agenzia di pratiche automobilistiche").
You should pay around 700/750euro to get the job done.
If the dutch law is similar to italian one, once you get new plates and paper you can not switch again to Holland plates (I'm not sure...)
I went to a "Agenzia" in Como but there are several of them in Milan!
Good luck and welcome!

Thanks for your reply Roth!

But I'm not happy with giving up yet...with an agency as back up plan...

By the way...If anybody needs help with an SW20..I have spare parts (stripped a spare engine before i left Holland) and some experience in the garage (rebuild the engine myself and loved to spend time in the garage) I would like to help anybody with an SW20 if needed!

Regards,
Edwin
